Texas Women Ventures (TWV)
Texas Women Ventures (TWV) started investing in 2005 with a simple goal: to help women-owned businesses reach their full potential. The fund invests in women-led businesses by making mezzanine loans – debt that performs a lot like equity without the company’s founders giving up control. TWW seeks companies in the Southwest with an established track record and achieving $7 to $70 million in revenue. The fund seeks repayment in three to five years. For these businesses, capital from this fund can provide a much-needed opportunity to take the company to the next level. But TWV is about much more than money. TWV was founded by successful women; Whitney Johns Martin, Valerie Freeman, Cynthia Pharr Lee and Carol Nichols, all of whom have experience building strong, successful companies. The fund advisors provide mentoring, networking opportunities and valuable connections to the next generation of women entrepreneurs. We call it smart money.
The TWV mission is three-fold:
- Invest in and promote investment in women-led companies
- Provide attractive returns to investors
- Support the development of the next generation of successful women entrepreneurs
